This is Yann Martel, author of Life of Pi and The Facts Behind the Helsinki Roccamatios. My wife and I went to see him speak last night at a local book store. At the moment captured above I believe he was answering the all-too-often-asked question, "What advice do you have for aspiring writers?" His answer was, "Don't take creative writing classes!" Great answer. Mr. Martel is an amazing man and writer. I mentioned him a few posts back, and again I urge you to read his books if you have not read them yet. Below are some other photos I took at the book store while waiting for the author to begin. My favorites are the sleeping man and the kids. All were shot from the hip.
