Forests have always been magical places for me. From the dense hardwoods in the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania, to the pine dynasties in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, to the temperate rain forest of Oregon, and south to the majestic redwoods in Muir Woods in Northern California. But I saw something that I could never have imagined existed in the Saguaro National Forest in Tucson Arizona this past summer: an entire forest of nothing but cacti. If you are ever in the area, it is well worth your exploration. |
