Today we had a misty and moisty day off, and my wife and I did some much-needed, all-too-often-neglected, and east-to-put-off autumn yard work. She took the front yard and I the back. But while she toiled out front cleaning out flower gardens and planting bulbs, with hopeful images of their springtime arrival dancing in her head and the rich smell of October soil on her gloves, I stashed away the rake in favor of my camera. I stole a few images back there before the drizzle turned heavier and I had to put both camera and rake away. I had a ladder out with which to do some gutter cleaning, but it came in more handy to take this shot from above the birdbath looking down, with my 100mm lens. The gutters did not get cleaned, the leaves did not get raked, but I will post more of the photos I took later next week. |
