Rich browns, amber golds, and khaki tans are the colors of February around here. Soon they'll yield to the cacophonous and gregarious greens of spring, but for now mundane hues rule the landscape. I'm constantly amazed by how little imagination I have...as I walk through the woods at this time of year, I can only conjure a hazy image of what it looks like in August. Conversely, in summer I almost chuckle in disbelief that just six months away I'll want for the smell of green grass in the dog days of a brown and waning winter. I have to admit, everything seems quite nicely planned out. Click the pics below for larger ones. |
