PhotoblogsMagazine.org baking day enlightenment (january 17, 2006) Photoblogs.orgView My Profile ©eggplantwmayo

Mmm, can you smell it? That's fresh Challah bread coming out of our oven. Yesterday was baking day for me and my daughter, and we used the new baker's stone I got for Christmas. We also made a couple loaves of raisin cinnamon bread, and it was hard not to eat all of it as it came out of the oven with a bit of melted butter for good measure. It's funny...we spent probably six hours making four loaves of bread, which we could have gone out and bought for maybe ten or twelve dollars. But making it ourselves is so much better. I guess when it comes down to it, the illusive meaning of life is nothing more than doing that which sustains the life itself; and baking bread has to be just about at the center of that (as Van says, "Enlightenment...don't know what it is"). Click on the small photos below for larger versions. And when you are done with that, hop over to Photoblogs Magazine and check out the new Monday Subscriber Spotlight.
