One of the most interesting stops on our visit to San Francisco this summer was our Alcatraz tour. I'm sure for many travelers this may seem to be a sort of touristy thing to do (and I thought that at first, as well), but after having visited this historic island, I recommend that you put this experience at the top of your list of things to do when you visit San Francisco. The bay boat ride is worth the price of admittance, alone.
